Summer in April,Winter in May, Spring in June,

What crazy weather we have had this year. More snow than in the past 10 years. Then spring tries to come and we go from 32 degrees to 90 degrees and back to 32 degrees. It snowed every monday in April and half of May and we finally got spring showers in June. I planted my peas in early april but they are still only about 6 inches high, those that even sprouted. They can't figure out what to do.
We have been working on building a retaining wall and flower bed at the back of the house and put in a fun fire ring to cook on and just enjoy a periodic bon fire.

We took a great trip to Kansas City Missouri where we saw the musical "Wicked" and then drove up to Nauvoo, Illinois with my brother Kevin and his family, and then we went down to their home in Lawrence Kansas and had a fun visit.

Sarah graduated from Lehi High School, Marie graduated from Willowcreek Middle School and Brian graduated from Pony Express Elementary. All three kids will move on to new school in the fall. No more kids in elementary school.

Leigh is doing great in Jamaica and has already been gone 10 months.

I have managed to lose 50 pounds since last November and am working on the next 40, but feel great.

We hope all is well with everyone who reads this.

Where did the time go?

Wow! it is February and I haven't updated the blog since September. CRAZY!
Leigh has been serving the Lord in Jamaica for 6 months now. He is doing great and has lost 45 pounds and looks great.
We have had more snow this winter than in the past 5 years combined, but the kids are loving sledding.
Warren played Santa Claus at his brother's ward Christmas party.
My Grandma Smith turned 100 and we had a great party for her. All 10 of my brothers and sisters came into town to help celebrate.
Warren and I celebrated our 23rd Anniversary and still love each other.
Life is great.
Love to you all.

Lunar Eclipse August 28 2007

Hey, we got to watch a full lunar eclipse last week. I took some pictures from our front porch.
It was pretty cool even though it was 3AM to 4:30AM that we had to watch it.

The Big Bad Wolf Wind blew and blew!

Hello Everyone,
What wild weather we had in Utah last night. The storm touched off micro bursts and funnel clouds all over Utah and Salt Lake Counties and Tooele areas. Our only casualty was our dog kennell. It was 14 panels of fencing and a 20x10 foot tarp tent roof. As you can see in the pictures it became a crumpled pieces of steel, tarp and wire. The dogs were OK, wandering around the yard, (we were all gone to church activities). We spent this morning playing clean up. We salvaged 6 pieces of kennel fencing to make a temporary shelter for the dogs and moved it down below my deck near the walk out basement doors. The dogs were grateful to sleep in the garage last night. Crazy. My garden fence stayed put though, no damage at all.
Take care,
Cindy

I have some lawn!!!

Hey everyone, I have a lawn. Granted it is only a small patch of it, but it is there. I also have 2 spiral fir trees and 5 bushes. Hurray!! I also am finally getting my garden to grow too. I picked 5 peas off of my stunted 5 pea plants. I have 2 peppers, but the great news is that I finally have blossoms on my squash plants and tomato plants, so maybe by fall I will have something else to pick.
3 weeks of over 100 degree heat didn't help it much.
My son Leigh will be leaving next week to do missionary service for our church in the country of Jamaica. He is excited to start teaching people about Jesus Christ.
Alot of changes in our near future. Love to you all.

Sad news.

Hello friends and family,
We have had a sad week where we had to say goodbye to our dear, loyal dog Blackie.
We have had her for over 14 years. Even up until last week she loved to chase the ball and try to beat Lucky (our 10 month old Labrador) to the ball each time we would throw the ball. She loved to play fetch and go for walks.
We buried her down in the lower pasture where she loved to walk with us.
We will miss her alot.

Mother's Day and New kittens

Hello Everyone,
Guess What, we didn't have enough pets with 4 dogs, 5 fish and a cockatiel, we adopted two kittens. Spot and Smokie. Spot is named after Warren's cat Spot that lived with his parents for nearly 20 years. He was Gray and White also. Right now they live in my office in my garage. I am working with an allerist to decrease my sneezing from them.
My kids made me breakfast in bed for Mother's Day and it was alot of fun.
Also see how great my son Leigh can cut up fruit for parties. He is alot of help.
We are working on the yard so I will send pictures when we have something to show for our efforts.
Take care,
Cindy & family

Easter Fun

Happy Easter Everyone.
My kids awoke to a surprise this year. I made a deal with the Easter Bunny and instead of bringing my kids a pail and shovel to pick up their candy in and then play with all year, he brought each of my kids a 5 gallon bucket, new gloves and a new rake to help do landscaping all summer. I laughed and laughed.

Pictures from my new camera!

I think I figured out how to get to some of my pictures.
One picture is of a beautiful full rainbow that we saw just north of our home.
The other pictures are of a trip we went on to Idaho last week. We stopped to see Shoshone Falls near Twin Falls.

a Few more pictures! per special request.

Hello family and friends,
So now that spring starts tomorrow, I finally have some of my Christmas pictures to add to the blog. I got a new camera for Christmas and still haven't figured it all out but here are a few from the old camera.
We had great parties at Thanksgiving and Christmas. I totally love my home.
Take care all of you.
